Drs. Roger Ideishi, Program Director and Professor, and Sarah Doerrer, Assistant Professor, are partnering with the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts / Access VSA on a five year $10 million federal grant from the Department of Education, Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services to improve outcomes in competitive integrated employment in the creative economy for individuals with disabilities in Washington DC and across the country. This project will increase opportunities to hire individuals with disabilities in three areas: 1) internship and apprenticeship programs, 2) career development for artists, and 3) creating a community of practice for employers to build capacity. Drs. Ideishi and Doerrer will be partnering with Dr. Joshua Taylor from Washington State University to measure the outcomes of the project.
