Why Occupational Therapy?
I chose OT because I love that it treats people holistically; body, mind and spirit. I am looking forward to this career because I will be able to integrate creativity, science, and empathy to help people of all ages overcome obstacles to obtain the life they want and deserve!

I believe there are policy changes that need to be made to provide equity in healthcare to many of the populations occupational therapists serve. GW's inclusive ideals and optimal location in DC make it the perfect place for me to work towards those changes.

If you could share one piece of advice or insight with prospective OT students considering GW, what would it be?
At GW, the faculty create an environment built on trust, support, and genuine belief in their students’ success. Their guidance and confidence help ease the weight of the doctorate journey, making the program feel collaborative and uplifting.

I wish that I knew that my relationship with the faculty would be so strong, so fast. It takes a lot of the weight of being in a doctorate program off when you know that the people who can pass or fail you want to help you succeed, and believe in us. The faculty are so, so brilliant and so supportive that it makes the program.
